So I have been so beyond stressed. I mean like life hating, don't know what I am doing anymore. The only thing that gets me through is knitting. I have finished up my pink lamb but I have missplaced the body I knitted!? So I have to find it before I finish her up. Now I am knitting myself a white rabbit. I do hope I have enough yarn left to finish it or she may end up being a multi colored rabbit!
The shrug is going well too. I am just doing that when I travel to my doc appointments.
I am trying to get on with the dissertation, but I just can't focus sometimes. I am hoping I do better tomorrow. I have pilates so I am going to force myself to sit at Paul's afterwards and do some work!
I do hope to get the little pink lamb (I have dubbed her Peony as her blue counterpart is Bluebell) finished as soon as I find her missing body!!

YARN SALE
So today I got a boat load of yarn and I am excited!! I got 8 balls of Rowan Wool DK in a light yellow for 90p a ball! Then I got 10 balls of Rowan Merino DK (5 pink 5 purple) for 2.25 each! That is 18 balls of yarn for just under 30 quid (see pic above!) I see many new projects for Karliegh coming up!

Oh yeah and Karliegh was born and has worn her hat I knitted and has hugged her bear (that is bigger than her!). She is the cutest baby eeever I am such a proud 'Aunty Alison'! I have a million things I want to knit for her for this winter (obviously wool and summer don't mix and I hate knitting with cotton).

In other knitting news, I am getting far on my little shrug I have started for myself. It is turning out much better than the one I ripped out! I also got some yarn to make my little sister something. I haven't knitted her anything in a while and I found the perfect yarn (bright green Malabrigo silky merino she better love it) I am going to make another 'waves' scarf on the flight back to the US (cross your fingers for me sneaking on my wooden circs!)
In life news, I have a wood pigeon friend named Brucie who visits me every day. Each day he gets braver and braver! Today he walked into the house TWICE! I feed him out of a bowl because his one foot is wonkey and when I used to put the food on the ground it attracted mice (well I still get them if I don't bring the bowl in quick enough and even if I do last night one came inside and ate from the bowl). Well this morning I hadn't put the bowl out yet but it was just inside the open door so he just walked in and ate from it. When I found him he walked outside and waited for me to move the bowl! Then at lunch time he decided to check out the carpet because there were some stray seeds so he walked right in again! I must say I was quite excited!
all for now! Have to get back to my Dissertation!

Knitting reduces Stress
Soooo I ripped out this guy and I almost cried! That is A LOT of knitting and A LOT of difficult lace! Me and lace are not always friends!
So ripping this out was due to it not fitting. That is what I get for using sock yarn when it calls for DK and thinking 'well if I make the biggest size it may work' FAIL!
I am trying again though! I picked out a simpler pattern that I can modify more easily to account for my yarn. right now I am doing the K1P1 rib cuff and that is quite therapeutic. I do love mindless knitting. The only thing I am worried about is when I have to increase for the lace bit I will have to do my own math! I CO 99 st when the largest size was to CO like 79. I did it by my arm size once knitting a small bit (imagine that I almost did a tension square!)
I am excited because the yarn really does lend itself to this pattern more I think.
Other than this knitting, I have been stressed! I should be working on my dissertation but I just can't get into the mood. I have been applying for jobs/searching for them. I also have been looking at other edu options. So I will take peace in this simple knitting to chill out a bit. (oh and perhaps some ice cream with a hott waiter will help too!)

OMG BLOG
LETS TRY THIS AGAIN
So I have been knitting up a storm. I had a phase of doing nothing for a bit but now I am back. I have been mainly doing toys but I have ventured into some easy travel knits
(scarfs with simple repeats).
Today I have been feeling selfish. I was knitting a toy for my baby cousin that I have to finish by the end of the month to take it home to America but I keep getting frustrated or bored or messing up. I should just do it! I have the one for her new baby brother done but not hers (well I have knitted the legs and body!) The idea was to knit little lambs for both of them but for her to make little outfits. I have found I am not as good with the outfits as I thought... basically me and lace don't get along so well and I was knitting a lace dress today and I just bunged it up and had to tear it out.
Speaking of tearing things out. After finishing half a shrug with my beautiful Malabrigo sock yarn, I decided to rip it out. I just hadn't been working on it and I felt like it would never fit. I am trying a more simple shrug now. I am going to get this going for travel knitting and then finish up the baby lamb. I think then I am up to date on major gifts! EXCITING. Two recent gifts are this Starfish pillow for my Aunt and monkey for my Dad!
Now I can get back to doing whatever I feel like wooo!
some of my recent projects

1. my little bat I made during assessment time to cheer me up between essays

2. Bluebell the lamb I made for my new baby cousin (the pink version is the one that I need to finish!) They gray Lamby is one I made for myself. I love love love FuzzyMitten's patterns!!
3. Just a scarf I started in Feb finished in May haha
