So I have never blogged before but sometimes I feel like venting my knitting frustrations and joys and well my friends know nothing about knitting!
So I guess I should start!
I am a masters student studying environmental social science. I love birds way too much and so I hope to work with promoting avian conservation eventually. Besides my love of birds I have an obsession with knitting. I love to knit toys and now everyone wants my cute little animals. I haven't started designing yet but I hope to eventually. I am currently working through different designers so I learn all the techniques. My current favourite is FuzzyMitten.
Right now I am stuck working on essays for class but that doesn't mean I can't sneak some projects in! I just finished up a Tiger for my friend's birthday. This was my first FuzzyMitten toy and I love him! I feel like writing about my experience of JOY! So I had to use a mix of yarn weights (DK and Aran) unfortunately the patterns call for worsted and here I tend to find the most colour options in DK. The only problem I had was the intarsia bit on the face pulled a bit I think because of the different weights of yarn. I finished her up and was wondering why mine didn't look as cute as the others! I was poking about fuzzymitten's blog and she had a bit about face shaping. TAHDAH! two little stitches and she no longer has an egg face! So now her sweater is blocking and I will be taking pics of her with her new face. But she is pretty cute without her sweater and new face so enjoy the cute pics! I will put up the new ones soon!
